Abstract :
The aim of this study is to determine self efficacy of classroom teachers towards science and technology teaching. The study has a descriptive characteristic and survey method was used. A five-point Likert-style “Science and Technology Self Efficacy Scale”, developed by the researchers, was used in this descriptive study. The population of the study consists of classroom teachers working at primary schools in Elazığ city center. The sample consists of fourth and fifth grade classroom teachers selected randomly from five education regions, declared by the National Education Office in Elazığ city. Totally 172 classroom teachers were included in the study. Frequency, percentage, mean score, standard deviation, one way Anova, and levene test were used to analyze the data. The data revealed that the teachers found themselves sufficient towards science and technology teaching. It was also determined that they sometimes had some problems while teaching science and technology to the students. They also argued that some courses should be conducted by the branch teachers.
