“İnsanlık Durumu” ve “Umut”’da Malraux Aktivizmi
Abstract :
Malraux whose works witness his life is one of the outstanding French authors. Action which is the backbone of his novels also constructs the dimension of the exercise of his thoughts. The author stunningly displays this unity of action-thought in his works called “The Condition of Human Being” and “Hope”. These two novels also spark interest about Malraux activism. In this study, we tried to exhibit Malraux activism in various aspects. The motivating power of this activism is the adventures challenging to death. Its scene is history. Its actions are those which “trace in the map”. In our study, we emphasized Malraux activism which is experienced by the characters who exhibit themselves with the virtues such as heroism, bravery, challenging to death and bursting into adventures regardless of fear. We pointed out that the activism also appeared as a way of giving a meaning to life and objecting to fate. In conclusion, we stressed that man, who believes in his own strength and other people and is conscious that man does not have any savers except himself, will overcome all negations and we underlined the humanism which embraces all people.
