Abstract :
Changes and developments; that have appeared in every aspect of life as depending on time, force people to use their own knowledge and abilities at superior degree and also to equip themselves with contemporary knowledge and abilities. In modern societies, individuals acquire these qualities through schools and education. Being able of school in making students acquire the mentioned qualities can be possible by transferring the changes occurred in time into process of education. From this point of view, it is an ordinary situation that educational curriculums have been changed and updated to fulfill the requirements of time and to meet the new needs which will probably appear in the course of time. With similar reasons, since 2004 new curriculums have been prepared and become valid in Turkey. Within this process, Elementary Turkish Educational Curriculum And Guidebook (6, 7 and 8th grades) have been become valid. In this curriculum; which has been prepared by a similar vision with other elementary curriculum, Turkish consists of learning domains as listening, speaking, reading, writing and grammar. Aims have been fixed for each learning domains and acquirements have been formed under aims title. In this study, Elementary Turkish Curriculum And Its Guidebook (6, 7 and 8th grades) is examined according to listening and reading that are among comprehension abilities. Acquirements formed for listening and reading among learning domains are evaluated in the curriculum. In the study, it is determined that the qualities parts of listening and reading among learning domains couldn’t be acquired and some acquirements are very general ,some of them are very detailed and some also cannot be measured and evaluated.
