Abstract :
The word mevlid means “place of birth and the date of birth” in dictionaries. This term was used in Turkish-Islamic Literature. It concerns Hz. Muhammed’s arrival to the earth, his life, his miracles and his morality. It has been used as a term of moral issues and other aspects of the works. Many of poets have written about Süleyman Çelebi’s work Vesîletü’n-Necât from the 19th century till now. As a result of their deep respect and devotion to Hz. Muhammed, they all have written such kind of works which are in the type mevlid. One of those poets was İstanbullu Sheikh Mehmet Hayrî. He wrote the Yeni Mevlid-i Şerîf Takrîr-i Şehâdeteyn ve Tezkîr-i Hitâbeteyn. In our study, it has been given brief information about the life of our poet mentioned before. In this study, the Yeni Mevlid-i Şerîf Takrîr-i Şehâdeteyn ve Tezkîr-i Hitâbeteyn was analyzed in terms of content and form. It was also added the transcribed text of the work at the end of the study.
