Abstract :
In this research, it is aimed to researching school leadership behaviours and practices on providing school effectiveness according to teachers’ views. In this research, it is used associational method based on scanning. The study group of the research consisted of 580 teachers working at different schools in Erzincan city centre, towns or villages in 2014-2015 year. Data was gathered using effective school scale’ and school leadership scales. On the other hand, as the means of getting qualitative datum, half constructed interview form which is formed of teachers’ views on effective school and school leadership has been used. In the research, qualitative info was gained by individual interviews. In the quantitative dimension of the research the results were seen generally teachers have ‘high’ school understanding. The understanding of teachers about effective school principal, teachers, school atmosphere, and education process and students’ sub-dimensions are ‘high’. However, their sensations about school environment and parents sub-dimension are ‘medium’. Their sensation about school leadership is generally ‘high’ .Their sensations about corporation and supportive sub-dimensions which is the sub-dimension of school leaderships ‘high’ The understanding of teachers on effective school, school leadership changes according to their sexuality, marital status, seniority, and age. Finally, it can be said that there are meaningful relations (r=.68) between school leadership behaviour and practices and effective school.
