Abstract :
Translations are great subject of having an impact on nations awaking and trying to develope commonwealth literature. Translated works and used expression had a great value to symbolize nations social and cultural choices. Iliad appear in Greek mythology so gods, goddess’, names of them and mythological events underlie it. This epic also has examples of ancient Greek daily life. Translation of Iliad is not just putting words of another language; at the same time presentation of a nation’s insights and beliefs to reader. Iliad tranlated 9 times and some of them not completed since late 19th century. We can’t expect all the translations to be same but differences between Iliad translations express change of cultural structure of society, Turkish language, point of view to other cultural societies and the meaning of translation to the translator beside of individual choice.
