Abstract :
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different surface treatments on shear bond strength between PanaviaF 2.0 and Turkom-Cera. Materials and Methods: All ceramic, 10x10x2 mm sized, 40 Turkom-Cera specimens were prepared. These specimens were randomly assigned to 5 groups (n=8) according to different surface treatments untreated or control (group C), sandblasted (group SB) Rocatec applied (group R) hydrofluoric acid-etched (group HF), and Z Primer applied (group Z). The resin cement blocks with 2 mm height and 8 mm diameter were prepared with Panavia F2.0 from teflon mould. Then they were cemented to Turkom-Cera full ceramic specimens. The prepared specimens were kept in water in room temperature for 1week and then shear bond strength test was performed at 0,5 mm/min crosshead speed with universal test machine. One way ANOVA and Tukey post-hoc tests were performed for statistical analysis. Results: Groups SB and R showed statistically significant higher bond strengths than other groups (p 0.001), but the difference between them was not statistically significant. (p 0.05). Furthermore, the bond strength difference between groups C, HF and Z were not statistically significant (p 0.05). Keywords: Turkom-Cera, sandblasting silica coating, shear bond strength. Conlusions: For the adhesive cementation of Turkom-Cera full ceramics; sandblasting with 50 μm particle sized Al2O3 and coating with silica exhibit sufficient and satisfactory outcomes.
