Abstract :
Idiopathic intracranial hypertension is characterized by abnormal elevation of intracranial pressure with a normal composition of the cerebrospinal fluid and absence of any intracranial mass lesion. It is a disease with a predilection for young obese women. The most common symptoms are headache, transient visual obscurations and pulsatile tinnitus. The pathogenesis, clinical features of the disease, current diagnostic and therapeutic approaches are discussed in this review.
