  • Abstract
    Insurance industry is one of the sectors having strategic importance for the economy of Turkey similar to other developed countries, just as the banking sector, since it provides added value, interaction with many industries and create employment for the financial sector. In this study, total factor productivity is calculated by Malmquist total factor productivity index using variables of equity, total assets, the premiums received, net profit/loss and technical profit of non-life branches of 23 insurance companies operating in Turkish Insurance Sector within the period of 2006-2010.
