Abstract
Soccer has been followed by millions of individuals and it is believed in today’s world, soccer has the biggest number of players and viewers. Soccer has been taking an important part in Turkey since it was played for the first time. Although popular cultures’ all manipulations, soccer has been always preserved its feature of being social praxis due to social-economic changes and transformations in society by help of mass communication devices. Nowadays, soccer becomes social problem as consequences of overreaction of supporters and their aggressive behaviors that result in violence, fanaticism and hooliganism. Overall objective of this article is that trying to understand and investigate reasons of soccer fanaticism by means of not only cultural, economical and political social issues but also sociological and psychological motives that force soccer viewers to fanaticism behaviors, violence and aggressiveness. Moreover, in this article it is also aimed to provide some solutions to soccer terrorism.
