Abstract :
As a result of the changes in perspective on jewelry artifacts at the 21st century, the concept of jewelry surpassed its functional identity as an appearance endorsement and transformed into a medium of unique works that can be valued as works of contemporary art. This story, of jewelry artifacts, with its users and onlookers is proceeding with awing rate. As of now jewelry is not only perceived as mere works of craftsmanship but also as artistic works that reflect and define the implications of the century on the globe. The most frequently practiced form of contemporary jewelry art is “the ring”. Rings created utilizing various materials and techniques of a range of arts turned into pieces of self-expressive wearable sculptures. This evolutionary journey of the structural transformation of jewelry dates back approximately 70 years, and could be defined as an expressive reaction to a multitude of effects. The developments in economic, political, environmental, traditional, mystique, artistic and symbolic instances have major importance in the comprehension of the points of view in accordance with this evolutionary journey.
