Title Of Article :
AN OVERVIEW OF THE SOCIAL ENLIGHTMENT PROCESS (IN ART) OF UNDERSTANDING GUSTAVE COURBET’S RELATION WITH POLITICS
Abstract :
Recognized with his revolutionist identity in 19th Century Art, Gustave Courbet managed to overcome his bourgeoisie superiority to that date with art as an identity raised in a French farmer family, and also to enter the “Realism” movement into the literature by turning it into action with his art. This approach was not only reflected in his works with his expertise in drawing and style, but also reflected bravely as the irregularities, harshness and realities of life. Because according to him, art should voice the nature as it seems, express the realities in somehow and thereby, thoughts related to class differences should be put aside and everyone should be an “individual”. Based on this thought, Courbet affected the social and political activity of the era and guided the society via art by joining Paris Commune in 1871.
