CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION AND PURCHASE OF A PAINTING
Abstract :
The struggle for evaluating a painting, purchasing or including it to a collection dates back to the ancient periods of human history. Throughout the time, this struggle has passed through different stages with the change of perception and functions. Nowadays, it can be easily observed that possessing valuable paintings doesn t stem from aesthetic purposes, but it has become a social prestige and a profitable investment tool. But in which painting and how much should be invested? What s the possibility of making a mistake and not foreseeing the future? What are the criteria that determine the value of the painting? In our study we re considering about the criteria when purchasing a painting and establishing a functional system to be implemented in the process of evaluating a painting.
