Abstract :
Since the beginning of humanity, art has been struggling to generate itself as a humanly created form to express feelings and descript imagination. Changing and altering its directions towards ages, the art, has formed itself accordingly to the people of every era and each time gained new definitions. In this very era that we experience Postmodernity, the concrete structure of the interfused notions, disappearing borders, and the phenomenon of the uncertain cater the art for gaining another dimension. The old and the new sometimes entangle within each other whereas sometimes are separated by clear lines. Among this occurences the art of theatre is also keeping up with the process as it maintains its connections to other disciplines. It will be beneficial to scrutinize Postmodern orientation, that includes a lot of entangled artistic notions, in terms of Tom Stoppard’s stage play “Indian Ink”. The playwright frequently uses the postmodern elements in this particular play of his, which makes it easy for us to survey the play, following the main arteries of it.
