Adaptation of Some Grape Cultivars to Van Ecological Condition

Abstract
The present study was carried out to revive the forgotten viticulture in Van province and to determine new alternatives for viticulture in Van. The adaptation abilities of six fresh table cultivars- Sultani Çekirdeksiz, Hamburg Misketi, Cardinal, Royal, Hatun Parmağı and Yalova İncisi- were recorded for three years in Van ecological conditions. Cardinal, H. Misketi, S. Çekirdeksiz, and Y. İncisi were recommended for the production in the region. To get a decision on Royal, its maturation period should be tracked in some more time. Although H. Parmağı had fine growth, it was not recommended for the region because of its maturation problem; the longer observation has needed for this cultivar. It was seen that 110R rootstock for S. Çekirdeksiz and 420A rootstock for the others had better results for yield and quality.
