Abstract :
Pomological properties of local apple varieties, cultivated in Çatak (Van) and Tatvan (Bitlis) districts, were investigated in this study. Seven local apples such as Sevi Birhoi, Sevi Heko, Çitanyan Balalı, Bahar Turş, Sour summer apple, Seva Spi, Seva from Çatak and eight local apples such as Seva Şirin, Seva Çali, Seva Altemit, Seva Tahğla, Seva Payizi, Sou Pamuk apple, Sweet pamuk Apple and Bitter apple from Tatvan (Bitlis) were identified with respect to their fruit characteristics. The local apple varieties were examined in terms of fruit weight, fruit flesh firmness, titratable acidity, soluble solids content and pH values and this properties were determined between 139.3- 20.9 g, 6.2-3.9 kg/cm3, 4.0-2.2 %, 15.4-10.0 % and 4.6-3.4 respectively.
