The Effects of Various Fertilizer Sources, Sowing Dates and Bacteria Inoculation on the Yield and Yield Components of Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) in Van Ecological Conditions
Abstract :
Theaim of this study is to determine the effects of various fertilizer sources, sowing dates and bacteria inoculation on the yield and yield components of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) under irrigated conditions in 2008 and 2009 spring periods. Field trials were conducted at randomized complete block, split-split plot design with three replications on the experimental area of Yuzuncu Yıl University, Agricultural Faculty. As factorial two different sowing times (01st April and 20th April), four different fertilizer sources (control, Diamonium phosphate, sewage sludge, humic acid and farmyard manure), two bacteria application (control and inoculated). According to data, as the highest seed yield (1101,6 kg/ha^-1) was obtained from the first sowing date (01st April), bacteria inoculated and fertilized with manure plots in 2008; the first sowing date (01 April), bacteria inoculated and fertilized with sewage sludge plots gave the highest seed yield (1051,9 kg/ha^-1) in the second year. The lowest seed yields (572,6 kg/ha^-1 in 2008 and 536,3 kg/ha^-1 in 2009) were determined in the later sowing dates (20th April) and control plots by means of bacteria inoculation and fertilization both experimental years. In conclusion, all the experimental factors significantly affected the seed yield of fenugreek in the experimental years.
