Effect of the Status of Crop Production In Tekirdag Şarköy District on Rural Tourism

In Turkey, depending on the traditional structure, the rural tourism as one of the alternative tourism is getting more important. In this context, Şarköy District of Tekirdag County has potential areas for alternative tourism types of rural tourism. So; Şarköy is settlement which has rich potential for agricultural production (crop production, animal husbandry, fishery), product diversity, potential rural labor force and local product that may be a brand. In this study, it is aimed that the crop production activities in these field to be associated with their use in rural activities. Main purpose is not only ensuring the socio-economic development but also the protection of natural and cultural landscape values to ensure awareness of nature conservation on the other hand. In this context, we investigated the answers of the following questions: “What is the role of the crop production on the development of rural tourism in Sarköy?” and “What are the solutions for improvement of crop production potential related to rural tourism in the district. As a result; agricultural values and the natural environment found to have a considerable force either alone or together, and should be evaluated in performing the rural tourism in this district.
