Abstract :
This study aimed to determine the vitamin C, sugars, and macro and micro nutrients contents of fruit juice in some pomegranate cultivars and genotypes grown in Turkey. In the juices of studied pomegranate genotypes and varieties, nitrogen content ranged between 111.57-1007.33 ppm; phosphorus content ranged between 215.98-338.35 ppm; potassium content ranged from 547.15 to 1651.30 ppm; and calcium content ranged from 21.91 to 69.81 ppm. It was also determined that iron content varied between 2.52-5.38 ppm; manganese content between 0.150-0.649 ppm; zinc content between 0.413-1.201 ppm; copper content between 0.253-2.388 ppm; and magnesium content 26.76-128.40 ppm. In terms of sugar content, fructose varied between 3.7200-9.8133 g 100 g^-1; the level of glucose between 2.7267-7.2233 g 100 g^-1 and the level of sucrose in some cultivars varied between 0.0220-0.1346 g 100g^-1, and in some cultivars no sucrose were detected. Moreover, maltose was not detected in any genotypes and cultivars.
