Effects of Phosphorus Fertilization on Forage Yield and Quality of Common Vetch (Vicia sativa Roth.)
Abstract :
This research was conducted to determine the effects of five phosphorus rates (0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 kg ha−1) on forage yield and quality of common vetch (Vicia sativa Roth.). Dry matter (DM) yield, crude protein (CP), acid detergent fibre (ADF), neutral detergent fibre (NDF), total digestible nutrient (TDN) and relative feed value (RFV) were determined. Phosphorus rates significantly affected all components determined in common vetch. Phosphorus applications increased DM yield, TDN, RFV, CP contents, but decreased ADF and NDF contents.
