Abstract :
Throughout history, the art has been directed by life styles of the era. All the countries, which involved First World War, were affected by the conditions of the war and therefore, the art was evolved accordingly. Dadaism, which was evolved as an unwarlike manner, was in quest for activating and arousing creative and abstract art. Dadaism proposed the styles that are against the traditional forms of aesthetic, and celebrated arbitrary and coincidental formulations. It not only rejected rules and norms of art, social life, war, traditions, religion and morals of the era but also teased them. The usage of ready objects, which began to be appreciated as a new aesthetic value, was preferred first by Marcel Duchamp as an equivalence of a traditional media of the Art. Aesthetical evolution of collapsed rules and morals had shown its reflection on Ceramic Art. The usage of ready objects with traditional ceramic materials becomes a new language of expression in this era. This study investigates the expressions and interpretations of Dadaist ideas by contemporary ceramic artists.
