An Evaluation of the Ancient Historical Age of Bayburt/Aydıntepe in The Light of Surface Survey
Abstract :
Aydıntepe is located in the northwest of Bayburt. The researches show that the settlement in the region dates back to the Early Bronze Age. Hill towns, observation towers and an important cult centre that began in the early ages and continued up to the middle ages were determined in the surface survey that we undertook in 2008 in order to shed light on the prehistoric and ancient periods of the region.
