Abstract :
Abdurrahim Şerif Beygu was born in 1309 (H) 1894 (G). His father Gül Ali Bey was a descendant of Kamil Agha, and his mother is Kudret Hanım.Spending his childhood and education years in Erzurum, Abdurrahim Şerif Bey witnessed the events in Erzurum between 1906-1907, 1911 earthquake, and the WWI. Abdurrahim Şerif Bey started his education in Erzurum Merkez Numune-i İptidai School. He achieved to be called “Erzurum Sultanisi in 1913.When the war started in 1914, his education was interrupted and he started working as a typesetter with the deceased Sıtkı Dursunoğlu in Albayrak printing press of “the Union and Progress Party” (İttihat Terakki Fırkası) in Erzurum. In 1916 with the occupation of Erzurum, he respectively moved first to Sivas, then to Tokat Erba, and then to Kayseri and at last to Konya.Working in various places of Anatolia, Abdurrahim Şerif Bey was married to Edibe Hanım, a daughter of İsmail Hakkı, in 1924. He had five daughters from his marriage. Working as a History teacher in Erzurum Male High School, he took the surname Beyguafter the Surname Law. He continued teaching in Erzurum Lycee until 1943. He was appointed to Eskişehir Lycee because of his illness in 1943, and he died here on October 6. 1944. He produced important literature during his lifetime.
