Abstract :
Since human being appeared on scene of history, they have struggled against geographical and seasonal conditions of the region in which they lived, have tried to shape their daily life according to these conditions. Architectural structure and ways of life which are different according to dry weather, which are more different according to rainy weather has emerged as a result of this embodiment. This situation, in fact, caused culture to exist in human life and therefore a cultural life was created according to seasonal and geographical structure. This structure which becomes common for all societies has created belief systems and way of solving and interpretation of the cases herewith.Although seasonal and geographical elements have played an important role in the shaping of communities’ cultural structures, communities have developed similar thoughts, therefore belief systems in many topics. One of elements that determine the development and change in these belief systems is mysterious structure of the universe. Thus obscurity of the universe caused anxiety and fear on people in almost every region, people always believed super power especially about natural disasters and seasonal destructions and they preferred to stay in peace with this super power. This obligatory peaceful manner brought obedience herewith and this obedience caused to form a particular worship sense. This sacrifice worship has developed as a result of human being’s non-resistance to their creator in all societies. One of the most important indicator in which this development was reflected is pictorial art. Qualitative research technique is applied and sacrifice’s ways of handling which are seen as common trait in pagan and divine religions was tried to be explained with examples of pictorial art in this study in which literature review was used. As a result of this study, it is seen that same event shows similar features in different belief systems with similar changes.
