The Baroque Influences in Pina Documentary

Abstract
Cinema is an interdisciplinary art form that interacts with the other fields such as literature, painting, sculpture, music, and performance arts. Cinema through its narrative style / language cinematography has been in a very close relation with painting. Cinematographic (composition, perspective, color, graphic) norms, conventions and styles have been constituted from the art of painting. The emergence of 3D Cinema has given new possibilities and potentialities for filmmakers who search for new forms. Narrative style / language of 3D cinema is called Stereoscopy (3D cinematography). Stereoscopies necessity to calculate on-screen and off-screen depth for dimension opens new interdisciplinary fields between art forms. In this article, the influence of baroque painting in Pina documentary’s stereoscopy will be discussed.
