AN ETHICAL APPROACH TO ENVIRONMENTAL PEACE
Abstract :
In today’s world, the destruction caused by wars and environmental problems are critical and can be considered as a threat for the future of the world. In order for the world to become a living space for us, it needs peace more than anything. For that reason, the types of peace are increasing in the form of social peace, domestic peace, labor peace, and world peace. We have even started talking about environmental peace recently. Lack of peace costs too much for the environment. Lack of peace turns into a war that effecting all living things negatively and concerning the whole world. Initiatives for solving enviromental problems have brought a new approach called “environmental peace”. Because of multi-dimensional and common problem, environmental peace should be thought as multi-dimensional and a mutual problem of the world. This study analyzes “envionmental peace” and investigates ethical approaches toward understanding it. In this context, evalutions and suggestions on development of environmental peace at national and international platform are presented.
