Abstract :
This study aims to make generalizations about the relationships between local representation and participation in municipal councils using sample of municipal councils of Kahramanmaraş and Sivas. In this context, firstly, the socio-economic features of research area were touched upon. Secondly, the outcomes of survey implemented in municipal councils of Kahramanmaraş and Sivas in terms of local representation and participation were analyzed. Finally, the views and attitudes about local representation and participation of municipal council members in Kahramanmaraş and Sivas, were assessed in the light of results obtained.
