POPULATION GEOGRAPHY OF TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTHERN CYPRUS
Abstract :
The subject of this paper is “Population Geography of TRNC”. Under this title, historical development of Turkish population in Cyprus Island, population movements, distribution of population and population density as well as social and economic characteristics of the population (i.e. health, education, economic activity types, sort and structure of the population) are discussed. According to the results we have achieved, the population emigrates continuously. Such factors as the political condition of the country, economic embargos as well as humane and physical factors (particularly aridity) are influential on emigration of the population. In this regard the embargos on the national economy should be tried to be removed and young population should be provided employment.
