Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate 7th grade elementary school students’ vocabulary according to some variables. In this research, the students were asked to write a composition by selecting a topic out of six subjects which were given them. Vocabulary which was used in their written compositions was investigated in terms of various variables. The data were gathered from 394 7th grade students. SCP 4.07 and SPSS 15.0 were used for analyzing the data. Findings of this research assert that students’ vocabulary shows statistically significant difference in terms of sex, taking kindergarten education, socioeconomic degree, and academic success.
