Abstract :
Criticisms in Minstrel Literature is a type of criticism which makes a critical perspective to the break downs in society, individual mistakes, unfair practices and biased decisions. This article, as a type in Minstrel Literature, gives places to the criticisms of Çukurova Minstrels to “the so-called Armenian genocide” in a critical way. By taking epics as historical deeds, in the samples of Âşık Imami’s “Müftü Kızının Destanı” and Âşık Feymani’s “Fransa’ya Duyuru”, French and Armenian peoples’ slaughters, cruelty and in humane practices in Çukurova region are mentioned. “The balladoofoMufti’s Daughter” mentions many cruelty and in human treatment involving seven thousand and young girls’ life and Mufti’s daughter. Their tragedy is expressed during the occupation of Adana by Armenians. In the ballad of “The Announce meant for France”, Ashık Feymani is one of the most important figures in the Çukurova Region and his Family is a real witness of the occupations of Armenians. The stories which Ashık Feymani father has told him about the cruelty treatments they exposed to in his ballad give us important clues about those days. In his ballad, Feymani underlines the date of 1914. Because of the great Armenian Genocide, it is possible to see the traces of events which are experienced in the East and South of Turkey and the compulsory migration of their ancestors which starts in Van and ends in Osmaniye.
