HEADMASTERS OPINION ABOUT OBLIGATORY ROTATION APPLICATIONS
Abstract :
Headmasters are the most critical element of school direction. Headmasters motivation makes a great importance on succession and productuvity in education. Like wise, headmasters assignment and rotation applications effect their motivation. Obligatory rotation applications for headmasters are being started in most cities in Turkey. The objective of this research is to find out the opinions of headmasters about the obligatory rotation applications being held against school headmasters and to display the effects on principals about this subject. In this research, qualitative research design is being used. Working group consists of 44 school principals who are working in state schools in the city center of Diyarbakır and effected by obligatory rotation applications. Structured interview form is being used as the data collecting tool and the content analysis are being done forthe data. According to the result of the research, along with possessing this obligatory rotation applications, the school principals phrased that they have found it has lack of some parts and there has been some errors in application. Participants think that for a headmaster to work in the same school for a long time can be harmful, on the other hand, working for several different schools makes the principal more active and productivity. The school principals think that being rotated to schools which are not the selection of the principal is wrong.
