Abstract :

This article is consisting of introduction, the concept of lament; the laments in Çukurova; the analysis of the novel “Haçin” evaluations related to the novel; a conclusion and references. In the part related to the concept of lament and the laments in Çukurova, the tradition of lamenting in Çukurova and the development of laments in time are mentioned. While the novel is analysed, the summary part is given in 18 chapters as well as novel itself. In the part dealing with the evaluations related to the novel, while the novel is analysed, quotations from the novel are given to make the research more realistic and to support the narration. Again in this part, Haçin Lament, which was the source of inspiration for the novel, is included in the evaluation. As it is pointed out the novel Haçin and Haçin Lament were taken as the starting points of the research and together the efforts of the Armenians with French to establish a government during the Turkish war of independence; how they tortured the local people and how national struggle was established among local people and the movements of gangs were underlined. In the Conclusion part, it was concluded that this study, which was carried out as a result of the evaluation of a lament and a novel, will help those who will make further researchers in the area; that the events experienced in Çukurova should be a lesson learned through a misfortune for people in the world and the article was concluded wishing that no such events will ever occur in the world.
