Abstract
The aim of this research is to review university students’ self-esteem and the perception of subjective religiosity according to socio-cultural and demographic factors.The target population of the study is 632 male and female students in different faculties and departments of Uludağ University and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. In order to achieve meaningful results, a sample screening method and questionnaire technique are utilised; and as data collection tools, “the personal information form” and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale are used. Özet It has been observed that the differences in the average level of self-esteem are affected significantly by students’ genders, the amount of their parents’ income and the educational background of their fathers. The analysis also shows that average religiosity varies significantly with respect to the students’ faculties and genders as well as both the students’ religious education and background and that of their parents.
