Abstract :
Transatlantic Alliance has undergone an unsettling transformation in the post-war period. In the period when there was no common Soviet threat, a number of factions have come to emerge within the Western Bloc, which was the winner of the Cold War. The foreign policy priorities of both actors have undergone changes. The U.S.A., whose main priority is to prevent any power or power bloc from becoming a rival to itself is trying to maintain the unipolar system. As a civilized power, the EU, on the other hand, has made the matters such as prosperity, democracy, human rights and environment its foreign policy priorities. Also, the EU has concentrated on the political integration process, and has made advancements on the formation of common foreign and security policy. The new mainstays of Transatlantic Alliance and the different tendencies developing in the foreign policies of both actors are analyzed in this study.
