AN INVESTIGATION ABOUT THE LEVEL OF REFLECTION ON POLITICAL CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE HEADLINE NEWS BEFORE OF THE 2011 GENERAL ELECTION IN TURKEY
Abstract :
The process of political communication is a process of communication which used the variety of communication techniques developed for specific purposes by political actors. The different communication tools are especially used in this process during election periods. One of these communication tools is the writing press. The aim of the study is to determine the level of reflection events in the political headlines of the media during election periods. The six newspapers were selected in different political tendencies. The first page headlines the type, nature and semantic is discussed by using the content analysis method during ten days before the elections. The levels of reflection political event of the headline news in newspapers were investigated using a comparative technique by the content analysis. According to the obtained data, the presentation of news in the Turkish press tried to put forth the newspaper headlines in the process of political communication of the general vote in June 12, 2011.
