Abstract :
This study aims to analyze secondary school students’ attitudes towards trees and environment. Target population of the study is composed of 723 students who attend 5,6,7,8. grades in three secondary schools in rural areas and the three secondary schools in the city center of Kutahya. Though general survey model are used in this study, it is demanded from the researchers to collect data by using Attitudes towards Tree and Environment Scale developed by Kunt (2013). Cronbach s alpha coefficient of reliability of the Attitudes towards Tree and environment Scale was found to be 0.90. For statistical analysis of the collected data, descriptive statistical methods (mean, ± standard deviation, frequency, percentage) as well as independent samples T-test, one-way ANOVA and LSD test cross-table are used. As a result of the analyses, it is found that while the students’ attitudes towards tree and nature show a statistically significant difference according to gender, there is no difference according to the degree they are attending. It is found that the students regard forests mostly beneficial for human life.
