Abstract :
Along with globalization of the economy, world trade is significantly improved. Transportation sector which is fundamental dynamic of developing world trade has also been increased with globalization. Being environmental friendly, economical and has significant amount of carrying capacity per cruise, maritime transport has a quite high share in transportation sector, despite changing according to distance and amount. Ports are one of the main components of maritime transportation. Effectiveness of port operations has very important issue on maritime transportation. One of the main factors affecting the effectiveness of the port is port management regime. The aim of the study is to evaluate the privatization process of Iskenderun Port, stayed behind the technological developments in the world port management, in terms of privatization assumptions of both Turkish public and the world ports.
