BAHASNA IN MEDIEVAL AGE
Abstract :
Bahasna is an ancient city that its ruins existing in current days. Although it was not knew the foundation date of city certainly in physically, there are a few consideration on its existing insomuch as ancient periods. But Bahasna which was a border city between İslamic world and Byzantine Empire, has not a strong role historically and correspondingly, it wasn’t founded place itself in contemporary sources. It must be noted this fact. Besides, Bahasna was displaced and relocated in another place that was close by ancient city and more safe from it at the end of 1950’s, because of various reasons about city safety. Tehere were lived various communities and exerted dominance a lot of political structures in Bahasna throughout history. The city that there was limited information about its pre-Islamic periods, was directed by Turks generally in Islamic era. There was no drawback to stay that the Bahasna’s political character peculiar to medieval age become integrated with Turkish presence. It’s current ruins consist of Ottoman and Mamluk’s traces testify this presence.
