Abstract :

In studies on Turkish folk culture it has an important place in folk medicine. Anatolian people for treatment of various diseases in the past to the present experience has resorted to frequent road contained in the folk medicine treatment. Today, alternative medicine alongside modern medicine, he might be called folk medicine practices are under way as well. Our people often are unable tofind a solution to modern medicine or turn to alternative methods can be more easily accessible. The concept is note worthy that in ocak folk medicine practices. Several diseases, often bearing the traces of ancientcultures, thefurnace can be defined as people who treated us with a unique method is found in many regions. Osmaniye region is one of ou rregion as well as continuing the tradition of folk medicine and thus ocak. This study will be presented on the Osmaniye region ocak tradition and will be ranked applications in thetreatment furnace in the region. Moreover, this tradition will be evaluated in terms of cultural change and development.
