Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool touse in the determining of choosing partner strategies of university students. The developed measurement tool was applied to 708 students (388 girls,320 boys) get university education. As a result of Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) and Bartlett tests were done to control the suitability of data for factor analysis, KMO value was found as .78 and Bartlett’s Test of Sphericity value was found as 3238.32 (p 0.001). As a result of confirmatory factor analysis was done, fit indexes of inventory were calculated as χ2/sd, GFI, CFI, TLI, RMSEA. In the direction of obtained findings,it was determined that the measurement tool was a seven subscale structure (Family and Reliance, Socio-Economic Status, Religious and Political Similarity, Physical Feature, Virginity, Child Care, Love). According to findings relating to reliability, internal coefficient of consistence of measurement tool relating to its sub dimensions differ from .58 to .84, test-retest values differ from .65-.92. It shows that the choosing partner strategies inventory which was developed these findings is a valid and reliable measurement tool which can measure the choosing partner strategies of university students.
