مرکز منطقه ای اطلاع رساني علوم و فناوري - INVESTIGATING THE STUDIES ON ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN PRESCHOOL PERIOD IN TURKEY: INVESTIGATING THE ARTICLES AND DISSERTATIONS BETWEEN 2000-2014

Abstract :

This study is aimed to investigate the studies published between 2000 and 2014 onenvironmental education in pre-school period. In this study, studies directly related to children in preschool period are taken into consideration. For this reason, studies dealing with preschool education programs are included in this investigation since they are directly concerned with children; however, studies carried out with preschool teachers and preschool teacher candidates are not included. 5 master’s theses, 1 doctoral dissertation, 3 national articles and 7 international articles published on environmental education in preschool education are contained in this study. Method of this study is epistemological document analysis. In line with the determined criteria, full texts of the articles and dissertations are saved. Each dissertation and article is analyzed under different subtitles. While distributing these subtitles, frequency and percentage distributions, which are components of descriptive analysis method, are used. At the end of the study, it is seen that there are not enough numbers of articles and dissertations on this subject. Thus, it is suggested that doctoral and master dissertations, and articles on environmental education in pre-school period to be increased and extended.
