IN TURKEY SELJUK STATE A STRONG WOMAN: GEORGIAN LADY TAMARA
Abstract :
The wife of Sultan II. Gıyâseddin Keyhusrev’s, who is called Georgian Khatun Tamara had been played very important roles in Turkey Seljuks Government, Tamara is also girls of the Georgian Queen Rusudan. Queen Rusudan gad got the throne in 1223, at the same year she got merried with Erzurum judge Mugîsüddin Tugrulsâh’s son. Queen Rusudan had two children one of them boy and another was girl, these children are called David and Tamara from this marriage with his Seljuk prince. Kemâleddîn Kâmyar was sent on Georgians the period of Sultan Keykubat. Queen Rusudan realized that cannot be held against him and offered peace. Upon this He accepted engagement of the her daughter who her father is Turkish with Alâeddin’s son Gıyâseddin. When Sultan II. Gıyâseddin ascend the throne he sent to Sehâbeddin Kirmânî’s to Georgian with wedding procession and his fiance had been brought to Konya an then they were got married. Georgian Hatun had brought all of the holy stuff’s to Konya, which was important for Christian, but then as a result of mystic atmosphere of Konya she got being a Muslim. Georgian Khatun Tamara had been effects to Sultan’s directly, and she had been used all of his possibility such as personal power and political power definitely. This study gives brief information about that relation with benefit from Armenian, Georgian and Seljuk.
