Abstract :
In this study, impact of Drama courses in physical education teaching departmentsin terms of perception was investigated. Study has been based on focus group discussions, which are used in qualitative research methods and 12-week drama workshop was conducted. Research and interviews with 47 senior students studying on physical education teaching department at Gazi University. They participated in 5 separate groups by researcher. Important datas obtained from this study are as follows: When we look at the new words, notions and terms of the participants it showed that they attribute to the word of the drama concept in personal development and awareness axis. Participants at the beginning of the process, defined concept of drama from the game and play notions. In the final negotiations on the content of the concept of mental game, physical, emotional, action, skill and goal words were added. For participants, drama courses not only a lesson based on method and technic teaching but also a process for personal development and awareness.
