Abstract :
The aim of this research is to compare the styles of coping with stress of male athletes. The data were collected through “The Styles of Coping with Stress Scale” translated into Turkish by Şahin and Durak. The scale was checked for validity and reliability. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to determine whether the data were distributed normally, Levene’s test was used to determine the homogeneity of the variances and it was found that the data were homogenous and normally distributed. In analyzing the data; descriptive statistics, one way variance analysis to determine the difference between variables more than two and Tukey testto determine the difference between the averages were used. As a result of the analysis of the data, statistically meaningless differences were found between boxing and kick-boxing, free style wrestling and weightlifting, free style wrestling and kick-boxing, weight lifting and kick-boxing in terms of athletes’ searching for social support (p 0,05). In terms of self-confident approach, a statistically significant difference was found between greco-roman wrestling and weight lifting, free style wrestling and weight lifting branches. (p 0.05)
