Abstract :
The study used the Fysion Blesreg questionnaire to determine the sports injuries of 548 deaf male football players who played actively in the 2009-2010 football season. The average age of the participants was 26.8±8.2 years and the average body mass index (BMI) was 23±4.1 kg/m2. It was determined that the 548 participants who participated in the study voluntarily suffered a total of 1848 injuries during 242 games, with some players having more than one injury. During the 2009-2010 season, 29.6% of the participants were injured twice, 24.1% were injured three times, 19.7% four times, 12.6% five times, 9.9% six times, and 1.1% were injured seven times. In terms of the cause of injuries, 89.7% were caused by the opponent player, 5.3% were derived from a teammate and 5% were derived from the facility/equipment such as the field, ball etc. In preventing injuries, both during training and before the match, enough warm-up and stretching exercises should be performed. Training programs should be prepared by taking appropriate training techniques, training period, frequency and intensity into account. Fixing the muscular strength imbalances, use of appropriate materials and not training on hard surfaces could be recommended. Coordination training is known to be very useful for football players in developing the concepts of balance and distance.
