Abstract :

The purpose of this study is to determine the sensitivity and ideas of mayors towards leisure management. Mayors have important mission about meeting the physical, social and cultural needs of individuals. The attitudes of mayors towards recreation and leisure management will cause to their behaviors in different positions. The success of the recreational activity depends on the trained staff that has objectives and concept of society’s wishes, interest, expectations and recreation philosophy. This study also aimed to determine the perception of metropolitan and urban municipality mayors towards leisure. The population of the study comprises 81 metropolitan and urban municipality mayors and sample of the study includes 15 mayor’s questionnaire. 81 questionnaires were posted and 15 were returned which were used for this study. Mayors of 93.3% have not been educated as leisure in any formal education. In addition 66.7 % of people have not follow innovations of leisure stated by mayors.
