DRYING OF MEDICAL PLANT IN HEAT PUMP VACUUM DRYING AND INVESTIGATION OF THEIR DRYING PARAMETERS
Abstract :
In this study, drying parameters of basil, rosemary, dill and parsley from among them medicinal plants grown in Isparta was investigated at different temperatures in air source heat pump assisted in the vacuum drying oven. According to the study results, increasing drying air temperature accelerated the drying. Also in this study, the obtained advantages in terms of energy efficiency using heat pump dryer at different pressures were examined. For basil and dill plants, the highest SMERHP and SMERTS values were obtained for 46 oC 0.40 bar. For parsley plants, the highest SMERHP and SMERTS values were obtained for 36 oC 0.60 bar. In drying process that is under the vacuum effect, it was determined positive effects of on evaporation and improving product quality.
