  • Abstract
    Natural stones are the wide spread used materials from past to day. The stones used especially in outdoor environments are exposed to important atmospheric agents and consequently may be deformed. One of these atmospheric effects are freeze-thaw. Freeze-thaw can cause deformation by creating negative effects on especially porous rocks. Therefore determination of freeze-thaw resistance of the stone that will be used in outdoor environments is important. In this study a research on some volcanic rocks that is produced and used around Isparta has been made. According to the findings, the loss of strength after freeze thaw was determined to be about 10%. However it has been determined that no visible deformation. has been occurred on the rocks.
