Abstract
In this study, commercial Citrus reticulata Blanco (Rutaceae) essential oil was evaluated for physicochemical properties and chemical composition. Relative density, refractive index and optical rotation of the essential oil were determined. In addition, the essential oil was analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography (GC)-mass spectrometry (MS). Twelve compounds representing 99.9% of the total oil were identified. Limonene (73.1%) and ᵞ-terpinene (16.0%) were found as the main constituents. The results were compared with European Pharmacopoeia and the essential oil was determined that in the Pharmacopoeia quality.
