Evaluation Of Rubella Immunity in Pregnants

Abstract
Object: In our study, we evaluated results of rubella in pregnants, researching their immunity. Material and Method: It was retrospectively reviewed results of antibodies against rubella IgG and rubella IgM tested by enzyme immune assay (EIA) method belonging to 1202 pregnant applied to Medical Microbiology of Medicine Faculty of Celal Bayar University, in six years. Results: We determined IgG and IgM positivities in 1006 (83.7%) and 92 (7.6%) pregnants, respectively. Only IgG positivity and IgM positivity was determined in 995 (82.8%) and 81(6,7%) pregnants respectively, it was detected both IgG and IgM positivities in 11 (1%) pregnants. It was seen both antibody negativity in 115 (9,5%) pregnants. Conclusion: It was found susceptibility to rubella in pregnant of 9.5%, and indicated importance of immunization.
